At Wings Theater on Christopher Street, issues of homophobia and prejudice are given a Latin flair in author/lyricist Clint Jefferies' thoroughly seductive Tango Masculino. From the creators of last season's Cowboys!, this remarkable new play with music (by Paul L. Johnson) is set in a Buenos Aires bordello, circa 1930.

Stylishly directed by Jeffery Corrick, the dynamic Ivan Davila and charismatic JoHary Ramos lead a top-notch cast, playing tawdry

characters entangled in struggles with class and sexuality. Tango Masculino is one of the best works to emerge from Wings' ongoing gay play series. The steamy production is highly charged with homoerotic tension (and bare-chested hunks dancing "the tango of men').

Editor's Note: Tango Masculino runs until May 4 at Wings Theatre (154 Christopher St); 212-627-2961. For more info, check listings.
